The New Paradigm of Freedom

As Americans we share some basic common values. These are eloquently stated in the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Recent times have strained these values and freedoms, but the desire for them remains strong. Among these are:

Freedom of Speech
Freedom of Assembly
Freedom of the Press
Freedom of Choice

“The Internet Is Not A Luxury, It Is A Necessity”

  • President Barack Obama

Since the 1990’s we have entered a new era. Some call it the Information Age others call it the Age of the Internet. However you refer to it ubiquitous computing and connectivity through the internet has radically changed our lives. It has challenged our Freedoms and Privacy while empowering both our work and our personal lives.

We say, Embrace this New Paradigm of Freedom

We have never had the ability to exercise some of our key Freedoms like we do now.

We have the power to express ourselves in a worldwide forum through a variety of web services including millions of blogs and Social Media sites.

We can not only assemble privately and publicly on the internet, but we can form innumerable affinity groups that meet in the real world ranging from dating sites to Flash Mobs, from Social Media to MeetUps.

The internet has vastly reduced the resources necessary to becoming a News or Press outlet. Anyone with a viewpoint can editorialize, investigate, reveal or publish news for little cost. on the flip side we can choose to subscribe to any of these news outlets. If we want to dig into any news story we can go to regional sources, congressional records or one of the vast numbers of public and private sources.

Freedom of Choice

What this New Paradigm of Freedom buys us is a level of independence and equality from Government, Biased News outlets and propaganda in our world. We have the complete Choice of Who, What, Where, When and How to gather the information that we need and to act on it both in Cyberspace and the real world

As Internet Connectivity becomes more ubiquitous and necessary in our lives we need to reach out and embrace this new way of thinking and look to the future.
