Libraries have a long and lauded history of being not only one of the worlds oldest but most effective information sources in the world. They embody The New Paradigm of Freedom. in the 21st century this means the free, unfettered and uncensored access to information from around the world, of course we’re paraphrasing. Individual libraries have the mission as stated by their advocacy group in this country, the American Library Association (ALA) which include 8 Key Action Areas that are facilitated by our products and services.
Local Libraries in concert with the ALA have the strongest ally since Andrew Carnegie who funded a worldwide infrastructure of libraries. A total of 2,509 Carnegie libraries were built between 1883 and 1929, including some belonging to public and university library systems. 1,689 were built in the United States, 660 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, 125 in Canada, and others in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand,Serbia, the Caribbean, Mauritius, Malaysia and Fiji. This ally is the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) who provides funds, support and a network of internet providers for libraries, schools and even certain medical providers.
We are proud to be a participant in this grand venture with Anaptyx. We can provide a comprehensive catalog of services to address all of your needs from an individual branch to an entire library system. Last year Anaptyx deployed an all-new network for the Wake County, NC Library system.
